MORNING COMMENTS:

Corn +1

Corn futures were mixed during the overnight session. The last day for December 24 futures is next Wednesday November 27th. December 24 futures are trading close to its 10-day moving average of 4.27’0. March 25 futures are trading between its 10-day and 20-day moving averages. Corn futures were pulling some strength from wheat futures and crude oil prices yesterday. US corn export inspections were 820,608 MT yesterday and within the market’s estimates. Dr. Cordonnier left his Brazil and Argentina estimates unchanged this week at 125.0 MMT and 48.0 MMT.

Beans -6

Bean futures are trading lower this morning. January 25 futures are trading between its 10-day and 20-day moving averages. November 25 futures are trading below all its moving averages. Bean futures had a nice rebound yesterday after heavy losses last week. US bean export inspections were 2,165,075 MT and towards the top end of the market’s estimate range. The weather forecasts for Brazil are calling for rain across most of Brazil the remainder of this week. Dr. Cordonnier increased his Brazilian bean production estimate by 1.0 MMT to 166.0 MMT. He left his Argentina bean estimate unchanged at 57.0 MMT.

Winter Wheat +4

Wheat futures are trading a few cents higher in both markets this morning. Mpls and KC December 24 futures are stuck between their 10-day and 20-day moving averages. Mpls futures continue to try to bounce back from reaching new contract lows last week. US wheat export inspections were disappointing this week at 196,281 MT, which is a marketing year low and below the market’s estimates. Ukraine’s Ag Ministry announced their winter wheat planting could possibly increase to 5.0 million hectares in 2025 vs. 4.6 million hectares this year.
